Nine Elms on the South Bank is London’s biggest regeneration opportunity. It will become a new London quarter, deliver huge growth for the area and make a major contribution to London’s economy.
By 2035 the 195 hectares that makes up the Vauxhall Nine Elms Battersea Opportunity Area will become a fantastic place to live and work, an internationally significant business district and a new centre for arts and culture in central London.
Once the transformation is complete the district will sustain 16,000 new homes, 30,000 new residents and enough business space to support 25,000 new permanent jobs.
The developments proposed will offer huge benefits to the local community in terms of employment, business opportunities and vastly improved amenities including parks and a new riverside walk.
It will be a place known for its exceptional architecture, unique public spaces and iconic attractions in the form of New Covent Garden Market, Battersea Power Station and the new US Embassy.
A beautifully landscaped linear park will run through the entire district, linking Battersea Park in the west with a revived Vauxhall town centre and Albert Embankment in the west. It will be an exciting new addition to London’s thriving South Bank cultural scene with vastly improved transport links including two new Tube stations.
